8 Laundry Room Colors To Look Out For

White

Madison Popper, founder and lead interior designer for the global interior design firm Chill Casa, advocates for classic white laundry rooms. But don’t get too stark or you’ll feel like you’re on a shift at the hospital.

Popper suggests Chantilly Lace from Benjamin Moore.

“It’s a timeless classic, a crisp and clean choice that adds a touch of elegance to any laundry room,” Popper says. “White can be a major winner for laundry rooms because it’s a blank canvas, it reflects light beautifully, making even the smallest laundry space feel more open and airy. Plus, it showcases stains or spills, so you can tackle them with precision.”

Even Moore’s description evokes a day of laundry, describing it as the white “that elicits images of fresh cotton and pure silk.”

Yellow

If there was ever a color that could change dreary to cheery, yellow’s the one. Perhaps the warm, welcoming, optimistic good juju we get from yellow could help us overcome the tedium of wash, rinse, repeat.

Coat walls in a creamy yellow like Behr’s Roasted Corn, or go for a blast of sunshine with the line’s Upbeat. Feel too intense? Consider a yellow-based white like Pearly White if you’re feeling more mellow than yellow.

Gray

Gray continues its run as a popular interior wall color in laundry rooms, too. Popper says a soft gray is “like a gentle whisper of sophistication that’ll keep your laundry space feeling clean and tranquil.”

Pair it with some printed patterned tile flooring, glossy-finish cabinets or colorful curtains to punch up the space. Think Flannel Gray for a (textile-themed!) softer gray, or go bold with Cracked Pepper, Behr’s 2024 Color of the Year.
