Thomas Confesses to Emma's Murder on Bold & Beautiful: Is Jail Next?

The Bold and the Beautiful may just have painted Thomas into a corner from which he won’t be able to escape. With Xander back on the canvas and lobbing accusations of murder at the designer — better late than never? — and Finn becoming increasingly suspicious of his brother-in-law, Thomas finally unburdens himself to Steffy about the night that Emma Barber met her maker.

Did Thomas kill the young woman who wanted to reveal to Hope that half the characters on the show were lying to her about baby Beth being dead? Debatable. We know that when she left to tell Hope the truth, Thomas gave chase in his cause, at one point even bumping hers. Was it intentional? Unclear.

What we do know, however, is that after Emma ran off the road, Thomas did not investigate closely enough to see if she had survived and might need add. He just stood there looking relieved that Hope wouldn’t find out that he was letting her mourn a child that wasn’t dead just to improve his chances with her.

So it will be interesting to see what kind of spin Thomas puts on the ghost story when he tells it to Steffy. If he is as changed as he purports, he should be haunted by his actions that fateful night. If at his core he remains the same self-serving schemer he always was, he’ll insist that it was an accident, one that he couldn’t have foreseen or prevented.

If Steffy pushes the issue, asking whether her sib checked Emma to see if he should call 911, there’s no two ways about it: He’s gonna look baaad. And if she then informs Hope, Thomas can kiss goodbye any chance he ever had of her wearing his engagement ring on her finger instead of around her neck.

On the flipside, if Thomas lies to Steffy, he’s gonna look bad to us. How would we ever again root for someone so remorseless? Maybe the show isn’t worried about that. The powers that be do seem to think that Sheila is still a viable romantic lead even after she attempted to murder almost every other character on the show.
